Dear Parent or Guardian:
I hope this letter finds you well and that your son or daughter has enjoyed a smooth start to the school year.
I am writing to let you know that students will soon be taking the Classroom Diagnostic Tools (CDT) test. Students will be assessed in grades 4 – 12 in reading, mathematics, and science. The purpose of the CDT is to provide student performance information that will help guide instruction. Once the CDTs are completed, teachers will review detailed reports that show how students are performing in relation to the Pennsylvania Assessment Anchors and Eligible Content. Please let your child’s teacher know if you would like to receive a copy of your child’s CDT report.
Please encourage your son or daughter to take the CDT seriously and to try his or her best. However, the results will not affect students’ class grades. The attached document has additional information about the CDT. Please contact me or your child’s teacher if you have any questions.
